What’s Your #1 Lifestyle Philosophy for the New Year?

Your lifestyle philosophy going into this year, any year, is everything. So I will share ours, to inspire yours.

First, “philosophy is not a luxury,” as a mentor has always taught me. He goes on to say, “The beliefs and values we hold will shape our actions and create the future, and I for one believe that the future is important.”

“Philosophy” means “love of wisdom.”

In a broad sense, philosophy is developed when people seek to understand fundamental truths about themselves, the world in which they live, and their relationships with each other.

Here at Lifestyle Coach, we sum up hopefully any philosophy you may hold, or be in the process of clarifying with our new tag line—Live Better, for Life! 

At first, our new tagline was Live a Better Life! But then we realized that more in line with what we are promoting, “Live Better,” for life, hit the mark.

It means: 

Living the way you do, for:

1. The energy (or zest) health, performance, and the zeal you need to succeed (your definition of).
2. For the whole, or the rest, of your life.

Your lifestyle philosophy can of course improve and even optimize to new levels, but the essential elements of your lifestyle philosophy, if adopted, to begin with, applied, and lived with positive results, must support you; and if they do, that’s likely not going to end; it’s for Life!

“For life, has always been a favorite for any lifestyle philosophy rooted in sound principles and practices because a philosophy, for the most part, is not something you adopt for a short period (there are exceptions), but rather for the rest of your life.

Your lifestyle philosophy can of course improve and even optimize to new levels, but the essential elements of your lifestyle philosophy, if ever adopted, to begin with, applied, and lived, must have supported you, and that’s likely not going to end; it’s for Life! 

So you’ve heard of, Eat for LifeStrength for LifeBody for Life (I happen to be a friend and associate with every one of these best-selling authors). 

And, every one of these great books, which I highly recommend, is mainly about one aspect of living, i.e., nutrition or fitness, with a brief mention of other parts of living. 

Here at Lifestyle Coach, we wanted to instill a genuine lifestyle philosophy that covered all of the fundamentals, not one element of your lifestyle, with a smattering of other principles built-in. 

That’s why Lifestyle Coach will help you “live better, for life!”

The thing is, we are in the age of holistic or wholistic living, and if you’re going to develop a lifestyle to fully support you and what you are up to in the world, it’s better if it addresses all of the core essentials of human performance.  

Believe it or not, it’s easier to deal with the complete picture than only part of it. 

At the very core, while there are the essential lifestyle nutrition and fitness principles (the most commonly talked about aspects of lifestyle; the performance lifestyle philosophy goes before and beyond nutrition and fitness, for a whole lifestyle approach.

For example, a performance lifestyle philosophy starts with waking up and managing your energy. That’s the big breakthrough in lifestyle, and why the next book I write for Lifestyle Coach is on this very topic.

Then, every aspect of your lifestyle is improved and optimized so that you can steer clear of hidden lifestyle challenges that distract and hold you back, so you can focus on achieving your ambitious life— career or business, creative or sporting goals. 

Ultimately, performance lifestyle philosophy addresses every crucial aspect of lifestyle that enables you to achieve your ambitious goals in life with your health and wellbeing intact. 

Most people cope with stress in ways that create more stress, not more energy, health, and performance capacity. This not only impacts their success, but also their longevity. So having a whole lifestyle philosophy that acknowledges the premise, that the primary driver behind lifestyle-induced diseases (85-95% of all illnesses) is overexertion, followed by poor energy management and a lifestyle that does not align with the core essentials of human performance; is a whole, new and more complete paradigm!

And it works, because it’s not an overly-structured program, limited to one or two aspects of lifestyle, that you can’t stick with because of other hidden lifestyle challenges you face. It’s a development and coaching process, that you keep getting better at especially as you put more and more optimal aspects of lifestyle in play in the way you live. 

After all, it’s your lifestyle and you can evolve it at whatever pace you want.
