Performance Lifestyle – The 12 Step Lifestyle Performance System for Achievers
The 12-Step Lifestyle Performance System™ for Achievers
Performance Lifestyle is a 12-Step Lifestyle Performance Program for Achievers, particularly those suffering from various levels of performance addiction; who see achievement as their drug, and who for various reasons are not living a balanced and healthy lifestyle, and in many cases, are not even achieving their goals despite working very hard.
The 12 Steps, will also help any achiever live in balance, with vibrant health and peace of mind while achieving even their most ambitious life goals.
What is a 12-step program? You may have heard the term before, but don’t know exactly what it means or how it can help. 12 Step programs are support programs and communities that use specific guiding principles to help a person focus on, and stay committed to, recovery.
Performance Lifestyle is for (achievers) capable people who:
- Are to-doing themselves to death (busy accomplishing but not achieving their goals)
- Have everything going on but are barely hanging on (over committed and under supported)
- Are trading their well being and health for “success” (often defined by others).
And want to:
- Drop the weight of the past
- Develop a more resilient sense of self
- Restore their personal energy
- Correct their life course
- Live a balanced life
- Move forward in a position of strength
- Achieve their goals.
A tall order yes, but that’s why this is a 12 Step Program for Achievers who learn to value “recovery”.
Performance Lifestyle just so happens to also be a movement in the fitness – training and coaching industries – where there is an emerging focus on, (no surprise), “recovery”.
The most obvious symptoms of performance addiction are a life/style gone awry, low levels of fitness, low energy and or weight gain. The reason it’s no surprise why recovery is on the rise in the fitness world is that many who are engaged in fitness are really performance addicts in disguise obsessing over their diet or exercise programs, which don’t come close to solving their real problem or balancing their lives.
The fitness industry is developing a new and emerging view of a Performance Lifestyle. Here at PerformanceLifestyle.com we define it as the art and science of living in balance with vibrant health and peace of mind while achieving even your most ambitious life goals. Of which, fitness is a core essential but not the focus.
A benefit the lifestyle approach is living at “or near” your ideal weight all year round and being able to exercise and “achieve” for that matter, for the right reasons.
But the problem is, the fitness / training and coaching view, while inspiring and important to the “strive to thrive”, goal achievement and quality of life; does not address the potential and likely affects of the past, that hold people back from actually or ever “thriving”; and they often burn out from striving.
The 12 Step Lifestyle Performance System for Achievers™ (Performance Lifestyle) helps you get free of the hidden challenges that hold you back.
It was developed by John Allen Mollenhauer with the support of an advisory team, who straddled the fitness industry’s focus on nutrition, fitness and goal achievement with a limited view on recovery, with the traditional 12 Step Program or “recovery community” view of recovery – to create a practical 12 step recovery program for achievers.
Recovery is the very thing forward moving achievers lack most in their lives.
Performance Lifestyle is an inclusive concept that focuses on mindset and skill set development for balanced, healthy and sustainable living.
John Allen Mollenhauer’s quest to live in balance with vibrant health and peace of mind while achieving ambitious life goals, is what gave rise to this 12 Step Program, and to co Author The Curse of the Capable with Harvard Psychology instructor Arthur Ciaramicoli PhD, to focus on the hidden challenges, that were holding him back.
He asserts that most people need at least mild psychotherapy so that they can live the lifestyle they are capable of and achieve their life goals and that it should be more “usual”, and perhaps as common as going to the doctor.
One of the guiding principles of the 12 step recovery program for achievers is to get free of unsupportive stories and the resulting distorted thinking that can so easily generate in the modern day, faced-paced world we live in where intimacy and empathy are exceptional and distorted thinking that drives us a little bit crazy, gets covered up.
